Laptop Donation & Refurbishment Program
We take unused laptops from schools, clean and test them, and give them to people in need. It’s a simple way to reduce waste and help students, job seekers, and families get access to technology.
Every laptop deserves a second life—and every person deserves a chance to succeed.
How It Works
Schools Donate
We reach out to schools and school districts to ask for laptop donations. These devices are often no longer in use and ready for a new home.
We Refurbish
Our team powerwashes the laptops, checks every port and key, and makes sure everything works properly. We always wipe all previous data.
We Give Them Away
After the laptops are ready, we donate them for free to individuals, families, and nonprofits in our community who need them most.
Our Commitment to Doing Things Right
We handle school-managed devices with care and responsibility.
-
We always reach out to the original school or district before making changes
-
If the school gives us written permission—or if the school is shut down and no longer reachable—we may unlock the device ourselves
-
In those rare cases, we use specialist methods to safely remove enrollment restrictions and make the laptops usable again
-
We never bypass locks unless we're certain we have full ownership and the legal right to do so.
Note: Our team is trained in advanced ChromeOS device recovery/unenrollment techniques. These methods are only used when proper ownership has been transferred.
What happens to broken devices?
Some laptops we receive are too damaged to fix or donate. In those cases:
-
We may recycle the parts or reuse them in other repairs
-
Sometimes, a team member may keep a broken device to learn from or try fixing it
-
Occasionally, we may sell broken devices for parts only — never working laptops — to keep them out of landfills
-
We always prioritize getting usable devices into the hands of people who need them. Nothing goes to waste, and working devices are never sold.
